BillMax Hardware Requirements

Note: BillMax requires a dedicated host (server) for its use. This setup enables a secure environment from which to operate as well as greatly reduces complications related to the installation and maintenance of software. BillMax may be installed on bare-metal hardware or on virtual systems (on premise or hosted). BillMax (the company) offers hosting services using Amazon Web Services(AWS) as well. The required capabilities of the hardware are highly dependent on the number of subscribers managed by BillMax and to a lesser extent, the number of customer service representatives using the system at any given time.

Two metrics to consider include the acceptable average response time for queries and updates and the time it takes for the nightly (batch) processes to complete. The latter of which is really a consideration for large companies. On these systems, a system without enough resources could cause the nightly batch time to exceed the off-hours time available.

BillMax is primarily a database driven system. As such its performance is enhanced with fast disks and large amount of random access memory. Raw processing power is a secondary concern. With these points in mind, a typical ideal specification for most companies would be:
