Internal BillMax Taxing Module / Concepts |
A product may be deemed to be subject to taxes or not or Not Applicable. Not Applicable is for revenue or locations (Oregon which has no sales tax is an example), where the sales tax code is not applicable. No tax is assessed and no record is made in the tax detail table. This revenue is intended to not be included when reporting sales taxes.
In Texas, you report both taxable and non-taxable sales, but not all transactions a company may book in BillMax are subject to the sales tax code, so it is a mechanism to know the amounts to exclude from the filing.
It differs from the Taxable - No setting in that the revenue for this may be included in the filings depending on local requirements. Revenue is booked in the taxdetail table.
